Product Details
Brand: Neptune Systems

Regularly monitoring the alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium levels in your saltwater tank, the Trident sends the results to your Apex so you can receive notifications and adjust your dosing. The DOS (separately sold) can be used in conjunction with it to form a completely automated system for administering supplements correctly and keeping their levels constant.

  • Tests for calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium automatically
  • Includes one month's supply of the reagent
  • For automated dosing, combine with Neptune DoS.
  • Out-of-range parameter notifications that can be programmed
  • Data is graphed for tank stats that are simple to understand.L
  • Less than 15 minutes to setup and integrate with your Apex
  • Empties the sample and used reagents into an external receptacle (not included)
  • Based on 4-Alk, 2-Ca, and 2-Mg tests per day, reagents can last up to one month of testing before they need to be changed.

IMPORTANT: Requires Neptune Apex or ApexEL with an open 1Link OR a 24V Power and Aquabus cable.

How does it work?

A self-contained automatic titration colorimeter, the Trident. When you test your water, you already do a color-changing titration and evaluate the results. The Trident essentially automates this process.

The Trident meticulously blends its reagents with a small bit of aquarium water sample on a regular basis. It is measuring (titrating with a fine peristaltic pump) the amounts of each required to achieve the desired color change as it works (determined by the electronic colorimeter). It transfers this sample/reagent fluid to your waste container once the titration is complete. After that, it interprets the test's findings and logs them.

Instant Alerts

When a parameter veers off the safe zone you define, your Apex can be configured to notify you or take immediate action. For instance, if you are dosing an alkalinity solution, a configuration error could cause your tank to be overdosed. That will be detected by the Trident, which will then notify you and allow you extra time to repair it before it is too late and save your aquarium. To further secure your tank, you can utilize the data from the Trident to control the operation of other devices (such dosers or solenoids).

Reagent Changes

The reagent stored inside the Apex will last a full month when utilizing the default testing schedule of four (4) alkalinity, two (2) calcium, and two (2) magnesium tests each day. Simply slide out the drawer, take out the outdated bottle(s), and replace them with the new ones to add new reagent. You can also conduct a calibration session using the supplied calibration standard, if you so choose.
